Your First Visit

At MyOrthodontist, we ensure your first visit to us is always easy and painless. When you book an initial appointment, we will send you a welcome letter and a map with directions to our orthodontic practice in Bondi Junction. If you have not received these, please contact us and we will send you another.

Prior to your appointment…

For the safety and well-being of our patients and staff, we ask that you do not attend your appointment if you are unwell.  We would greatly appreciate you contact our friendly staff to rebook your appointment.  We thank you for your understanding.

During your appointment…

The Doctor will conduct a preliminary diagnosis which involves examining your facial profile, teeth, bite, periodontal tissue (gums), smile line, speech and tongue movements, your jaw joints and whether you have preferences of breathing through your mouth or nose. 

If you will be requiring orthodontic treatment, preliminary records will be taken, and a diagnosis and recommended treatment plan will be given, along with any alternative options. 

You will then receive a competitive fixed fee quotation, however if you are an especially complex case you may require another appointment to discuss your treatment plan in more detail. You will always receive this in writing along with photographs.

No surprises or hidden fees mean you are fully informed…

All patients receive a written report of your oral condition, treatment recommendations and photographs. Your dentist will also receive your reports, photos and X-rays.

At your first visit you will be given a clear quote/financial contract which outlines all fees involved in your orthodontic treatment. We don’t believe in hidden fees, we don’t believe in charging per appointment.

Your fixed fee includes your treatment over the estimated period of time and all appointments within this time frame. In most cases the set fee includes removable clear retainers which are extremely important to maintain your smile after orthodontic treatment. It also includes complimentary 12 month observation appointments once you have finished your active orthodontic treatment so that we can check on you and make sure everything is going well post treatment.

So while orthodontic treatment may seem like a large expense, do keep in mind that unlike other dental services where you might be treated over days/weeks, we get the privilege of seeing you for months/years!
